The Eagles headed inside to the NovaCare Complex today due to rain for another Training Camp practice. Here’s everything you need to know from a Saturday in the team’s bubbly building.
Jason Peters stomps his feet
The biggest takeaway from today’s action was that Jason Peters is not a happy bunny. After Andre Dillard’s injury, it was assumed that Peters would naturally slide over to the left-hand side where he once made his paydirt. Eagles Injury updates
The major updates today came in the way of Sidney Jones returning to drills with a sleeve on his leg. After missing a string of practices and losing significant leverage when it comes to vying for a roster spot, he has just over a week to change his stars.
Quez Watkins is day-to-day with an upper-boody injury while Dallas Goedert was given a planned maintenance day.
John Hightower also picked up a limp after a huge contested-catch but did return to finish practice.
Pryor engagement
With the Eagles unsure what to do with Jason Peters, Matt Pryor took first-team reps at left tackle. The TCU product played virtually everywhere during his time as a Horned-frog and it’s clear the team want to gauge everyone’s level before lumping funds on a new deal for JP.
Cross-training CB’s
Avonte Maddox and Darius Slay switched sides today, while Nate Gerry and Duke Riley were first-team nickel LB’s. We haven’t seen that switch before and we know Schwartz wants a ‘positionless’ secondary. It will be interesting to see if any other DB’s follow suit.
One Eagles RB Making a Killin
With just over a week until training camp ends, the running back battle is really picking up toward the back-end of the depth chart. Adrian Killins is one UDFA whose stock has been soaring this week and that continued today.
He caught a huge pass on a wheel-route that went for six, before beating Cre’Von LeBlanc on a draw play, exploding the vacant hole on a CB blitz. In a scrap with Michael Warren and Elijah Holyfileld, the speedy back believes he is the fastest man on the roster and is gaining significant round on the rest of the pack.
