MLS is finally back on our screens and with it comes the return of Daily Fantasy. For the gamblers amongst us who may need a little guidance when setting their lineups, here are five Union players you should absolutely look at.

Kacper Przybylko (F) $9,300

The Union’s friendly ghost may not have scored in either of the team’s opening games, but he ended last season with 15 goals in 26 appearances, proving his worth as a poacher in front of the net. However, he put up 2 performances of 8+ points to kickoff this season, becoming the Union’s most expensive daily fantasy points option ahead of this game.

Sure, Kacper comes at a price, but he’s always a shout to draw plenty of fouls and be in amongst the action in the box. If you want to go all-in on the Union scoring, this will easily be target #1.

Jamiro Monteiro (M) $9,000

Monteiro’s role is an interesting one. An assist against LAFC highlighted a wider responsibility for the 26-year-old, who is always a threat to whip in crosses and draw fouls. With Aaronson holding down the ‘CAM’ role, Monteiro drifting wide almost makes him a hybrid winger. Will he be able to tear through NYCFC’s back-line? It remains to be seen, but he should be a fairly safe option for points.

Andre Blake (GK) $6,000

NYCFC have a potent offense and while the Union’s defense has improved massively this past offseason, infused with youth, the center backs did appear to struggle at times against a similarly explosive attack in LAFC. This means that Blake will likely see a lot of action tomorrow morning. Obviously, the catch here is an extra 10 points for a clean sheet and a win. Blake has scored 14.5 points across two games despite not achieving either of those feats once. If you want a nice cheap option that’s viable even if the Union are on the back-foot, Blake is your man.

Brenden Aaronson (M) $5,400

Everyone’s favorite wonderikid, Aaronson bagged his first goal in the team’s last league game against LAFC in scintillating fashion. With that new attacking role established, expect Aaronson to get plenty of chances to thread the needle to Kacper. If you want a stack, bagging the tandem of Aaronson and Kacper would well be a winning combination.

Warren Creavalle (M) $3,400

He may not have played in the game against LAFC, but Creavalle was exceptional in the loss to Dallas and arguably the lone shining point. Warren linked up the midfield and defense but was absolutely rampant in making tackles and stunningly recorded 9 interceptions, bailing out troubled CB’s. If he starts, this is a perfect bargain buy.
