According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the Philadelphia Flyers will be in playoff action in a little over one month from now.

The NHL GM’s had a meeting in which the following was concluded:

A two-week training camp in respective hub cities will begin on July 23rd or 24th before playing one exhibition game. This is relatively important for the Flyers at least, who as opposed to playing a five-game series in their opening playoff game, will compete in a series of one-game matchups in a round-robin to decide their seeding. The more experience and time to get back up to game-speed by the time the knockout phase starts, the better.

The Stanley Cup qualifying rounds will begin one week later on July 30th.

It’s good to know that the NHL is indeed nearing a cemented return date, even with the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the pandemic. With a firm plan in place, the Flyers can continue putting in work at the Skate Zone knowing that a return is near.
