2020 Temple commit Nick Jourdain is a 6-8 210 power forward who plays for Covenant high school in Wayne, New Jersey. He adds a solid versatile big body to the growing Temple roster. He talked with me about his recruitment and impact for Philly Sports network.

LJ: What made you commit to the Temple Owls?

Jourdain: The coaches were genuine and honest with me about my opportunities on and off the court and I love the atmosphere of the school. I just had a gut feeling.

LJ: What plans do they have for you moving forward?

Jourdain: Plans off the court are for me to be a good student that gets the job done in class. Moving forward on the court, I want to always play hard, be vocal, play good defense, be able to make the right play, and finish around the rim.

LJ: Are you looking to make an impact right away?

Jourdain: Yes, no matter what. Whether it’s me going hard in practice and getting me and my teammates better or in the games making plays. Either way, that’s impacting the team in a positive way and helping us get wins.

LJ: Tell me about Aaron Mckie. What do you like about him?

Jourdain: I like his honesty and respect him and his hard work coming up as a coach and a player.

LJ: What did you average this past season for Covenant?

Jourdain: Around 17p 10r 3a 1b I think I had those numbers almost every game

LJ: Have you gotten to know Jahlil White and Quincy Ademokoya?

Jourdain: I played AAU with Jahlil a few years back with the Playaz so we’re cool already but still getting to know Quincy.

LJ: What type of impact does Nick Jourdain deliver to the Temple Owls?

Jourdain: Versatility, someone that could play the 3 and the 4, able to defend all 5 positions, great athleticism and overall someone that’s going to play hard.
