According to Athletic/Stadium NBA insider Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania), another layer has been added to the NBA’s restart plan set to take place down in Orlando, Florida. With questions arising regarding how the league would implement home court advantage, it appears the NBA has decided on allocating “better” hotels to the higher seeded teams.

Teams seeded 1-4 will reside in the Grand Destine, teams seeded 5-8 will stay at the Grand Floridian, and the remaining six teams who were included to compete for a playoff spot will stay at the Yacht Club.

Obviously, all these hotels are utterly luxurious, and the idea that any of it will play a factor into teams’ performance on the court seems a bit silly. However, you can’t blame the league for at least trying to implement some sort of advantage in a creative manner.

Another wrinkle being added into the NBA’s restart plan that was revealed by Charania was that of a mini-preseason to be played out prior to the eight-game regular season. Teams will participate in three scrimmage games to be played against teams staying in the same hotel.

For the Sixers specifically, that would give them a playing pool of the Rockets, Thunder, Pacers, Mavericks, Nets, Grizzlies, and Magic. The Sixers are a combined 6-9 against the above-mentioned teams.
