Sixers’ Senior Vice President of Player Personnel Marc Eversley has agreed to fill the Chicago Bull’s vacant General Manager position. ESPN’S Adrian Wojnarowski first reported stating that Eversley will join Arturas Karnisovas to lead the Bull’s new front office.

This will be Eversley’s first opportunity as a GM. The Chicago Bulls have just completed an overhaul of their front office after moving in a different direction with longtime executives Gar Foreman and John Paxton. While Paxton is still with the organization, Eversley and Karnisovas will be running the show.

Eversley had been the Sixers’ VP of player personnel since 2016 and was one of the prominent voices in the front office. Without his presence, it will be interesting to how the power struggle in the front office unfolds.

The Sixers should take their time to fill this vacant position due. Rushing in a replacement would be a mistake unless they’ve decided long ago who that candidate would be.

The COVID-19 pandemic adds a wrinkle into this as it hinders the team’s ability to interview candidates for the position. It does, however, add more time as the season is indefinitely suspended and the draft, currently set for June 25th, may be rescheduled.

Eversley played an important role in the team’s draft process, even though the draft may be moved, the Sixers will have to reassign Eversley’s responsibilities either internally or to his replacement.
