We’re almost there folks! We’re down to only 2 days away from the 2020 NFL Draft. Now I just to recap, we’ve covered all the previous drafts from 2009-2016 which brings us to the 2017 draft.

In 2017, the Eagles drafted Derek Barnett with the 14th overall pick. The Tennessee product came in to be a big part of a deep defensive line. Barnett has played in a total of 35 games while starting 20 of them. He currently has only 14 sacks in a three year span with 3 fumbles and 49 QB hits.

Barnett has missed some time due to injuries but has come up clutch when the Eagles have needed him most. Now Barnett will he entering his fourth season at a very critical moment in his career.

The team will be looking for him to establish himself after what holes to be one of his first healthy off seasons. Barnett was a monster in Tennessee where he broke former Eagles great, Reggie White’s sack record. While the college production was there, the production at the pro level has yet to make its debut.

The Eagles young defensive end should be highly motivated to make his mark this season if he wants them to pick up his 5th year option.
