The Eagles signed another player to a futures contract today in the way of 26-year old cornerback Trevor Williams.

Williams will be familiar to many for a few reasons. He worked out with the team last year and has flashed potential throughout his short career on several occasions, including a huge interception against the Niners last year.

However, the former UDFA has battled a lot of injuries. He only played in nine games during the 2018 season due to a knee injury and missed the Chargers’ training camp due to a quadriceps setback.

He was later released before catching on with the Arziona Cardinals and appearing in two games prior to Patrick Peterson’s return.

Williams does have potential. At 5’11, 191 lbs, he may be limited to slot duties, perhaps hinting that with the Eagles set to endure a secondary shuffle, that it could open a depth spot for a backup nickel corner behind LeBlanc if Jones moves outside.

For his career, Williams has 3 picks in 39 games along with 22 passes defensed and 110 tackles.
