Philly College Hoops Recap & Preview for the upcoming week

Conference play in College Basketball is in full swing and this is where you see what your team is made of. Let’s take a look at what is going on with the College Basketball scene in Philadelphia.

Temple:
The Owls, led by 1st year coach Aaron Mckie, are  9-5 and they are currently 1-1 in the American Athletic Conference, having beat UCF on December 31, and losing to Tulsa on Janaury 3.

They lost to the 12-3 Cougars last night in a close game.

Villanova:
Jay Wright & the Wildcats are off and running in the Big East as they stand at 11-3 on the season & ranked number 16 in the nation. The Wildcats took down Xavier on December 30 to open Conference play and lost to Marquette on January 4.

They toook down Creighton earlier this week & will battle Georgetown on January 11th at 12PM from the Wells Fargo Center.

Penn:
Steve Donahue and the Penn Quakers are now in the tight battle that is the Ivy League and are 7-5 on the season & 0-1 in conference play. Quakers lost to Princeton on January 4 at the Palestra.

The Quakers will try to get their first conference win as they take on the same Princeton team on January 10, this game will be at Princeton

LaSalle:
The LaSalle Explorers, led by Year 2 of Coach Ashley Howard, are ready to take on their competition of the Atlantic 10 conference. They currently stand at 10-4 & 1-1 in conference play, Explorers feel to Dayton on January 2 and took down Fordham on January 5

This week, the Explorers will do battle against UMass on Janaury 8 at UMass & then come home against George Mason on Janaury 11.

Drexel:
Zack Spiker & the Drexel Dragons are off and running in Colonial Athletic Association as they are 9-7 & 2-1 in conference play.  Drexel took down UNCW on December 30 & lost to Delaware on Janaury 3.

This week, the Dragons take on Towson on January 9 & James Madison on Janaury 11, both  games are on the Road

Saint Josephs:
The 2019-20 Saint Josephs Hawks are off to a rough go under first year coach Billy Lange, they are 3-11 on the season & 0-2 in Atlantic 10 conference play. The Hawks feel to Richmond & Dayton

This week, they will take on Duquesne on Janaury 8 & then Davidson on Janaury 11. The Janaury 8th game is at Home while Janaury 11 is on the road.
