With the dust settling after yesterday’s upsetting loss to the Seahawks, there’s both good news and bad news for Eagles guard Brandon Brooks.

After being carted off the field during the team’s week 17 win over the New York Giants, it was revealed that Brooks dislocated his shoulder and would miss the playoff game against Seattle. This was a huge hit, given the outstanding play of Brooks all year long, aa season in which he made his third consecutive Pro Bowl.

Brooks told the media on Monday morning that he does indeed need surgery and will undergo the procedure on Thursday. The good news is, he’s expected to be back by the end of OTA’s.

Last year, Brooks battled his way back from a torn Achilles lightyears before anyone thought was humanly possible. If he attacks this year with the same energy, we’ll see Brooks around the NovaCare Complex very soon.
