Injury report: Eagles secondary close to full-strength ahead of playoffs

The Eagles have released their second injury report of the week after yesterday’s estimation and there is definitely a lot to be positive about.

Sidney Jones, Avonte Maddox, and Jalen Mills were all full participants in today’s practice, meaning that the Eagles secondary (excluding Ronald Darby) is about as healthy as it could be ahead of Sunday. This is huge given the threat that Tyler Lockett and D.K Metcalf present.

Lane Johnson and Zach Ertz were both limited today, with their progression pointing in the right direction. If Johnson is unable to play, Big V will take his spot as he has done in recent weeks. The team are likely to be a little more conservative with Ertz given how easy it is to worsen his rib fracture.

RB Miles Sanders didn’t participate today but reportedly expects to play on Sunday. Whether or not his role will be lighter than usual will remain to be seen, but the running back appears to have pushed through the pain of a mild ankle sprain. It is worth noting that the Eagles did sign former Panthers RB Elijah Holyfield, who may be an insurance policy for both Sanders and Jordan Howard, who has been recovering from an injury of his own.

It’s about as positive as the Eagles’ injury report has looked in recent weeks, so that has to count for something.
