Injury report: Eagles take one step forward, two steps back

The Eagles have released their first injury report ahead of Monday night’s game against the New York Giants. The good news is, big-time players like Zach Ertz are no longer on the injury report. The bad news is, other big-time players are.

Starting running back Jordan Howard has still not been cleared for contact and while Pederson stated that the stinger injury isn’t ‘season-ending’, this could now be the fourth game that Howard is set to miss, which won’t do anything positive for an offense that’s already struggling with a run/pass balance.

Nelson Agholor is listed back on the injury report after coming off it and playing against the Dolphins. This may be part of the reason why Marken Michel was signed to the practice squad today, in case the Eagles are down to just three receivers:

Alshon Jeffery
JJ Arcega-Whiteside
Greg Ward Jr.

Derek Barnett is a surprise addition to the injury report. Listed with an ankle injury, Barnett has 4.5 sacks on the year and has played a role in some of the defenses biggest plays. Missing him in a game where making a returning Eli manning feel uncomfortable, isn’t exactly ideal, but will lend a larger role to someone like Josh Sweat or even Genard Avery, should he miss the game.
