The Phillies have placed Corey Dickerson on the 60-day Injured Reserve. Matt Gelb quickly confirmed the news, stating that Dickerson has a fractured foot.

Dickerson had been one of the best trade deadline acquisitions. With the Phillies, Dickerson slashed .293/.307/.579. In just 34 games, Dickerson racked up 8 HR, 10 doubles, and 34 RBI.

Phillies beat report Matt Breen broke the news first.

The injury has been one of many for Phillies left fielders in 2019. Andrew McCutchen first caught the injury bug when he tore his ACL in San Diego. Jay Bruce (who was acquired to replace McCutchen) also faced an oblique injury.

Now that Dickerson has been added to the list. The Phillies are all but eliminated from the playoffs in 2019. Dickerson was one of their hottest hitters and RBI guys.

A Phillies run could’ve only happened with their offense going in full gear. Their pitching, on the other hand, will have to be addressed in the offseason.
