Phillies found some outfield help on deadline day as they reportedly add veteran Corey Dickerson.

Dickerson is a 30-year-old rental from the Pirates. In 43 games, Dickerson has slashed .317/.376/.556. He is a former All-Star in 2017 and a former Gold Glove winner in 2018.

Dickerson will most likely see the bulk of his time starting in left field. He could also see some time in center field. Once Jay Bruce returns from injury, he will probably be relegated to pinch-hitting duties like he was originally acquired for before McCutchen went down for the season.

According to Jim Salisbury, the Phillies will not be sending a player back in the deal. That could mean the Phillies are eating the majority of Dickerson’s $8.5 million.
