With a little under two weeks between now and the start of training camp, the Eagles will be one person lighter along the offensive line.

Tyreek Burwell, who signed with the Eagles in January, announced his retirement via Instagram.

The 27-year old spent three years at the NFL and saw regular season action for the Colts in 2017, after a two-year tenure with the Chargers, which saw him appear in 11 games as a rookie.

Burwell was never really considered a lock to make the roster and was always going to be fighting for a spot on the back-end of the depth chart, but it’s always a strange feeling seeing a player retire. We wish Tyreek and his family all the best.

As for the Eagles, their first practice at the NovaCare Complex is ten days from now and they also have a vacated roster spot to fill. Could we see some extra bulk at defensive end?
