It was a very interesting first season for the Philadelphia Wings as they made their return to the NLL during the 2018-19 season. The Wings would go 4-14 in their inaugural season back in the league. Let’s take a look at what is going on with the League & the Wings since their season ended.

Player News:

On June 18, the Wings would announce they have signed Josh Currier to a 2-year deal

During the season, Currier played in 18 games, scored 34 goals with 28 assists for 62 points

Expansion Draft:
On July 9, the National Lacrosse League held its Expansion draft as there are two new teams in New York Riptide & Rochester Knighhawks. Two players from the Philadelphia Wings were selected, with Frank Brown and Matt Bennett both going to Rochester.

Frank Brown Played in 14 games, scored 6 goals with 6 assists for 12 points.

The Wings got Matt Bennett on March 12 and signed him to a 2-year deal from Buffalo.

NLL Commish gets a new deal:
On July 8, the National Lacrosse League would announce that Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz would get a new contract extension through 2022 season.

Before Nick Sakiewicz joined the NLL, he was a founder, operating partner and CEO of Keystone Sports and Entertainment, the ownership entity of the MLS’ Philadelphia Union.

19-20 Schedule Release?

The National Lacrosse League in the next couple of weeks should be releasing the 2019-20 schedule.
