RUN. IT. BACK.

The Mike Scott hive will be partying the night away after finding out that their beloved player is going nowhere. Scott has signed a two-year deal with the Sixers, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Scott was at one with the Philadelphia fanbase from the moment his gritty attitude first took to the court. Averaging 7.8 points per contest and shooting 41% from beyond the arc, Scott provided an instant spark whenever he was dropped into the game and should be protected at all costs.

Bench depth stung the Sixers massively last year. A failure to close out games has almost become synonymous with this team, but Scott added some grit, intensity, and offensive production when it mattered most, ensuring that the foot doesn’t lift off the gas pedal and those leads don’t slip away.

Scott is a high-character guy and someone that the team know is capable of stepping up to the plate. Big-time shots against Brooklyn and Toronto became absolutely pivotal during this year’s playoff run, with Scott having double-digit games three times during the postseason.

Keeping Scott was a no-brainer. Beloved by his teammates and by Sixers fans everywhere, Scott has a key role to play on this team…and if an eastern conference franchise really is looking seriously at point guard T.J McConnell, retaining the 6’8 power forward makes even more sense given how important continuity and depth really is for this team.
