Mandatory Minicamp is well underway for the Eagles. Day two of the program took place today at the NovaCare Complex and saw plenty of noteworthy plays. Here’s everything you need to know.

Injuries

Just like yesterday, everyone who should be in attendance is currently down at the NovaCare Complex, but there are of course some still rehabbing injuries.

Doug Pederson told reporters that Nelson Agholor would be ready to go for Training Camp, but that hasn’t stopped him being active on the sideline, coaching up the younger receivers. A class act.

Derek Barnett is still missing from practices, as is Miles Sanders. Shelton Gibson would miss his first practice of the spring today, while Cox, Clement, Darby, McLeod, Adams, and Brooks all continued to rehab away from the main team practices. Mack Hollins was active during individual drills once again.

Highest of highs with some blips along the way

Carson Wentz has looked incredible this offseason and today was no different…well, almost.

Nothing to worry about here. It’s always encouraging to hear how excited those in attendance get when Wentz is at his best, and that seems to be happening frequently. Fresh off of signing a mega deal, Wentz looks ready to pick up where he left off in the heart of that MVP-caliber season in 2017.

Gotta go fast…

We know the Eagles have long been trying to fill their ‘need for speed’ and did so by bringing back the man who made them miss it to begin with. But make no mistake, Carson Wentz may be the most dangerous QB that Jackson has ever played with…and the early signs are terrifying.

The two seem to be catching fire in the early stages of the offseason and with the chemistry building so seamlessly, one can only imagine how dominant the paring could be once the regular season arrives.

A future CB1?

The rise of Avonte Maddox has been great to watch. From his first snaps as a rookie, to diving into the deep end as a Safety when the team needed help, Maddox was sensational…and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

Not only is he making plays during each and every practice, but he has that cornerback confidence. That swagger, chirping after a big play. You love to see it. The Pitt product is making his claims for a starting role heard…and is doing so in a big way.

A new underdog?

The offseason always sees a rise in underdogs who are chomping at the bit to make the roster. With no Nelson Agholor, Mack Hollins or Shelton Gibson, UDFA Marken Michel has been really making the most of his opportunities.

394 of his 1215 receiving yards (or 32.4%) in the CFL came after the catch. He also managed 11.8 yards per carry. Plagued by injuries, Michel ripped the CFL apart during his time with the Stampeders. Here’s a much deeper look into the career of Sony Michel’s brother.

Don’t be surprised to see Michel gunning for a special teams role this offseason.
