Four defensemen the Flyers could realistically trade for

It’s no secret the Flyers Defense has been inconsistent this season. Ivan Provorov hasn’t been his best, Shayne Gostisbehere has struggled, Andrew MacDonald has been wildly inconsistent, while Travis Sanheim, Radko Gudas, and Robert Hagg have been steady. Are we getting the common theme here?

Provorov is averaging 24:47 of ice time in just his third year in the NHL. He garnered 27:11 of ice time against the Tampa Bay Lightning last week. The Flyers have to find a way to reduce his minutes for him  to get back to being the Provorov we all have come to know. One way to do that is adding a Top 4 Defencemen. Here are some options that Fletcher may target:

Jake Gardiner- Toronto Maple Leafs

Tyler Myers- Winnipeg Jets

Alec Martinez (Close to returning from IR)- Los Angeles Kings

Anton Stralman- Tampa Bay Lightning (MTC)

(HONORABLE MENTION)
Colton Parayko (Possibly)- St. Louis Blues

Defense wins championships, even in this day and age. Fortunately, the Flyers have had some good, solid Defense from Travis Sanheim, Robert Hagg and Radko Gudas. However, the Flyers have a huge void for a Top 4 pairing Defenseman. Adding one of these quality players would be a step in the right direction for this young Flyers team.
