The sun is shining on the City of Brotherly Love and excitement for another incredible season of sport is rising. While the Eagles are one week away from the start of preseason, there is one event that’s attracting plenty of attention this weekend and all for a good cause.

‘Philly Kicking Cancer’ is an annual kickball charity event now celebrating its ten year anniversary. With over $320,000 raised since 2009, the event aims to bring together the Philadelphia community to enjoy some competitive fun and raise some money for a good cause.

This year’s event takes place at Dairy-Fields in Fairmount Park on Saturday August 4th and is poised to be even bigger and better than ever. With raffles and prizes including Beach cruiser bikes and coolers, there’s something for everyone in the sunshine.

Each team consists of 12 players and will play in 3 games that last 35 minutes or 7 innings. The winning team of each bracket moves on to a playoff bracket. Wildcard teams and top fundraising teams also move on to the single elimination playoff bracket.

If you want something to do this weekend, head down to Dairy-Fields. Not only will there be plenty of laughs and fun, but you’ll be helping to raise money for a cause close to many hearts.
