The rollercoaster of cutting the roster down to 53 is over for the Eagles, but the battle for the Practice squad has just begun. Here’s your one stop shop for live updates, signings, and rumors as Sunday’s waiver wire madness surges through the NFL.

Only Aaron Neary was claimed of those released by the Eagles over the last few days, meaning that they can build their practice squad comprised fully of players they are familiar with. But as always we can expect a few surprises. Here’s what we know so far.

The story so far:
We’re a little late to the party with a tracker so let’s get you up to speed.

In addition to bringing back C.J Smith and Justin Hamilton, the Eagles also re-signed Josh Andrews who spent two years with the Eagles and is returning from a broken hand. Smith has now had two full offseason’s with the Eagles and after a strong preseason yet again, will be allowed to marinate under Cory Undlin once again. Justin Hamilton had a strong offseason and racked up six tackles in four preseason games to show his worth. To put it simply, the Eagles depth at DT is extremely impressive.

Going on from what I had noted on Twitter earlier today, the Eagles have two playmakers from their preseason offense returning. Billy Brown passed through waivers unclaimed and will now sit as a receiving option who could look to climb the ladder as long-term depth is uncertain.

For Byron Marshall, leading the team in preseason rushing yards and outshining Pumphrey was a huge factor. The former Oregon Duck shined once again, building on his regular season experience last year. With another season to develop, the Eagles may be looking to stash young running backs.

Then there are the two names not returning. Dane Evans announced publicly that his future is now wide open for opportunity, thanking Philadelphia for his first experience in the NFL. Former Iowas State CB Jomal Wiltz also won’t be coming back, which is a little surprising given the lack of Eagles young cornerback depth.
