The Philadelphia Eagles have announced two roster moves today, releasing both DT Aziz Shittu and WR Dom Williams due to injuries.

Both players were signed as part of the undrafted free agent class of 2016..with neither playing a regular season snap for the team.

The 6’2, 288 pound, Shittu, ended his final collegiate season with a bang, racking up 3.5 tackles for a loss, eight overall and 1.5 sacks in the Rose Bowl en route to earning Defensive MVP. After suffering a torn ACL in 2014, Shittu bounced back with 56 combined tackles, 14.5 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks. Unfortunately after sticking on the Eagles roster, he lost out to Destiny Vaeao and will now be hoping to bounce back elsewhere, after Timmy Jernigan asserted the starting reins after signing.

Williams went undrafted out of Washington State last year, coming out of the team at the same time as Destiny Vaeao. A 1,040 yard senior season saw him do enough to land on the Eagles roster after spending time with the Chargers, ranking 2nd all-time in WSU receiving yards, receptions, and touchdowns. But with the amount of depth at the position, Williams’ long-term future became clouded.

The Eagles are of course in the process of signing this year’s class of undrafted free agents, so stay tuned for some more potential roster moves in the coming weeks.
