Eagles sign QB Aaron Murray to practice squad

The Eagles finally have their third quarterback. According to an official announcement from the team, Aaron Murray has been signed to the practice squad while WR Marcus Johnson has been released to make room.

Murray spent two years in Kansas City, which should come as no surprise. Doug Pederson spent both the 2014 and 2015 season with Murray as one of his quarterbacks so knows the player very well, while Murray has familiarity with the playbook.

Murray was signed to the Cardinals practice squad after being waived by the Chiefs following an unsuccessful roster battle that saw him competing in an overcrowded QB corps.

The 25-year old was picked in the fifth round of the 2014 Draft by the Chiefs but fell out of favor after a difficult preseason, fumbling three times against the Rams and throwing two picks against the Packers.
