Eagles sign four players to Practice squad

The Eagles have officially confirmed the signings of four more players to their practice squad.

We reported earlier today that Don Cherry was set to sign with the ten-man unit, but the Eagles have now reported three more additions, leaving them with one more space.

Unsurprisingly, Quentin Gause makes the unit after a very strong preseason and Training camp.  Gause was one of the best players on the field in the preseason finale against the Jets, leading the team in tackles. Gause was in stiff competition throughout the summer, but the UDFA did enough to earn himself a spot on the practice squad.

Interestingly, the Eagles add a fullback to their practice squad after releasing Chris Pantale following a disappointing preseason. Andrew Bonnet is a former NDSU teammate of Carson Wentz and also has experience at Tight end. As a senior, Bonnet made nine starts, playing in all 15 games, receiving for three touchdowns  and 105 yards.

The final signing is Aaron Neary, a zone-blocking center who was signed as a free agent by the Denver Broncos. A former High-School Basketball player, Neary stands at 6’4 and 300 pounds and is extremely athletic for his frame. The Eagles Offensive line is an area of interest for the 2016 season, with so many uncertainties and questions, but adding someone who fits the scheme and is versatile enough to be plugged in to numerous holes is a nice touch for the practice squad.

The Eagles announced the first five signings yesterday and have just one more space to fill.
