The Eagles have made another roster move, claiming former Chargers DT Bruce Gaston off waivers from San Diego.

At 6’2 and 310 pounds, Gaston went undrafted in 2014 and has since been on the roster of seven different NFL teams. The Purdue product registered 12 tackles and a sack in 2015 for the Bears, playing in 7 games. Gaston also appeared in two games for the Packers in 2015.

Gaston spent four years at Purdue, appearing in an impressive 50 consecutive games. He ended his College career with 132 tackles, 7 sacks, 2 forced fumbled, 4 rumble recoveries and 2 passes defensed.

The Eagles also confirmed the signing of former Philadelphia Soul Defensive lineman Jake Metz today, with the intent being to ensure that their DL starters remain fresh heading into the team’s week one showdown against the Browns.

Taylor Hart is also reported to have a minor injury, opening the door for Gaston to have a shot at securing his short-term NFL future.

The Eagles close out their preseason with a game against the Jets on Thursday night.
