Dez Bryant could be sidelined for both games against Eagles

The Eagles have been handed a huge advantage ahead of their week two clash with NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys. Star receiver Dez Bryant broke a bone in his right foot in the third quarter of last nights shwdown with the Giants and will need a screw through the bone to repair it, leaving the All-Pro WR sidelined for approximately 4-6 weeks.

Bryant has had problems with his leg before and the Cowboys actually tried to control his reps to condition Bryant. When Bryant comes into week one with minimal pre-season time due to negotiating contracts, your leg is going to get weaker. The smart decision would be to wait until he’s fully recovered. If this classes as week 2 then Dez may be at about 90% against the Eagles. Is it worth risking Bryant who’s still not 100% against the hard hitting Eagles at the Linc?

Sources report that Bryant will undergo surgery on Tuesday.

Just how much of a loss is Bryant? He’s predicted to return in week 9, a week after the Cowboys face the Eagles for the second time. Dez signed a five-year deal worth $70 million and has had over 1,200 yards in all of his last three seasons, amassing 41 touchdowns in that time.
