The Eagles have released their first injury report of the week for this Sunday’s clash with the Indianapolis Colts.

The most positive aspect of this report by far is the return of Carson Wentz. The face of the franchise has been medically cleared for contact and is set to march out in front of the Philadelphia faithful for the first time this season. After missing all of the offseason and preseason due to rehabbing a torn ACL, Wentz will be raring to go and even has an old friend to aid his return.

Worryingly however, both Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles were kept out of practice. Sproles missed Sunday’s game, while Ajayi hobbled to the sideline during the first quarter before making a brief return. The Eagles running backs are in a tough spot heading into this weekend and here’s why it’s going to have a huge impact on the offense.

In a week where establishing the run will be vital, Eagles have their ‘backs’ to the wall

Alshon Jeffery and Jason Peters were limited, which is encouraging for both parties.
