In terms of linebackers, there’s good news and bad news.
The good news is that veteran Dannell Ellerbe returned to practice today after missing Wednesday’s action with a hamstring injury. While still limited, this is an encouraging sign that the former Saint will be manning the middle and helping the league’s top run defense marginalize Minnesota.
The bad news is that special teams ace Kamu Grugier-Hill saw his status downgraded to limited. And ankle injury hinders ‘KGH’ who has been a reliable backup when called upon but more notably a dominant special teams performer this season, racking up 13 special teams tackles, leading the Eagles and sitting 10th in the NFL.
If both of these players miss the game in a ‘worst case scenario’, it would see an increased workload for Najee Goode and rookie Nate Gerry.
