It’s official. The NFL International Series has been officially announced and as previously reported on Philly Sports Network on Sunday, the Eagles will be making the trip across the pond for the first ever time.

The matchup will take place at Wembley Stadium between week’s 7/8 depending on the potential bye’s in that period. Here is the full UK slate:

Week 6:
Oakland Raiders vs Seattle Seahawks. 14th October

Week 7/8:
Philadelphia Eagles vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Week 9:
Tennessee Titans vs Los Angeles Chargers

The Eagles probably have the hardest matchup of the the International Series. The Jaguars are not only a playoff team, but one who have played in London for five consecutive years, winning their last three and scoring more and more points each time. Having adapted to the demands of the trip, the Jags are always in a favorable spot.

For the Birds, it means that Pro Bowl running back Jay Ajayi will return home for another game in front of his British fans, while the UK Eagles fanbase will also get to be a part of the Carson Wentz experience.

Crucially, this will be a road game for the Eagles. It may end up even being on the back of a west-coast trip which while unfavorable, would definitely make the journey back a little less bumpy.

The Eagles have overcome many hurdles this year and the challenges of traveling across the pond will boast an even bigger ladder to climb.

In terms of our coverage, IT’S A DREAM COME TRUE. For me personally, being based in the UK often means I’m working on a five hour time difference and relying on plenty of variables outside of my other job to bring as much content as I can to the table. Now the playing field is level. We’ll have the opportunity to really show what we can bring to the table and really give some unique and exciting multimedia content! We’re delighted and cannot wait to see the Eagles play at a time that isn’t 1AM!
