Coooooooooots has accounted for a career high 16 goals, 16 assists, and is a whopping plus 12 in 36 games played. Who would have thought he was a first line center before the season began.
Playing on the “Ginger Line,” Coots was nothing short of phenomenal. Head Coach Dave Hakstol had the guts to place Claude Giroux on the left wing, and Jakub Voracek on the right wing, and the one and only Couturier as the centerman to fill out the Flyers top line. The successful trio accounted for 43% of the teams total offense at even strength, with 25 goals between them. With the team looking for more secondary scoring. Hakstol had no other choice but to break up the successful “Ginger Line,” on December 4 against the Calgary Flames. Let’s not forget that Coots resurrected the careers of Giroux and Voracek before trio broke up.
Couturier hasn’t looked back since the lines changed. Now on a line with Giroux, and Wayne Simmonds. Couturier has registered 2 goals, and 4 assists in 10 games played. He seems to be comfortable on any line Hakstol places him on. Moreover, with these solid offensive stats, Couturier can now be involved with Selke Trophy conversation (Given to the best Defensive Forward).

It’s unbelievable how Couturier finally transformed his career. Not only is he a shutdown centerman, but he can now be relied on offensively, as well. Coots still shuts down the top players in the league, like Connor Mcdavid from the Edmonton Oilers. Couturier is everything the Flyers hoped for, and then some. One thing is certain Flyers fans, the future is bright in Flyer land.
