With rumors surfacing that the Phillies are interested in acquiring Manny Machado, what would it take?
According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Orioles have done extensive background checks on the Phillies minor league systems over the past year. But, according to MASN Orioles, the Orioles want two guys, Sixto Sanchez and Scott Kingery.
However, in any deal with the Orioles, I cannot see either of them going. Something that Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic made clear today.

Now, I do see a prospect or two going in any deal. But, they would be in the lower levels where the Orioles have done most of their research.
Here is a deal that works for both.
Phillies : Manny Machado
Orioles : Freddy Galvis, Adonis Medina, & JoJo Romero
The Phillies get their man in Machado and will sign him to an extension. The Orioles get a controllable shortstop and 2 young controllable arms, which they covet. Also, it get themselves away from getting into a bidding war next offseason.
Do I see this happening? Maybe. But it all depends on the Orioles and if they want to fork over 300+ million for Machado next winter. Something many people don’t believe they will do.
