Alshon Jeffery active for SNF while Smallwood and newly signed players inactive for Eagles

The Eagles have announced their list of inactives ahead of tonight’s clash with the Cowboys.

The biggest sigh of relief comes in the way of Alshon Jeffery, who will officially be active tonight after a week of limited participation in practice. Jeffery has emerged as a dominant weapon in the last two weeks, building on his ever-growing chemistry with Carson Wentz. His presence on the field against Dallas will be vital.

Unsurprisingly, both Dannell Ellerbe and Will Beatty are inactive after being signed to the team earlier this week. That means the Eagles are comfortable enough riding Joe Walker and the current LB depth, and Isaac Seumalo as the backup tackle, for now. The two veterans add a strong impact to the locker room, but after just a few days with the team, being dropped into live-game action under the Sunday Night lights would probably be a little premature.

Elsewhere, Wendell Smallwood is predictably inactive, as Jay Ajayi headlines a backfield cast supported by Corey Clement and LeGarrette Blount. The Eagles appear confident in the trio to carry the load as Smallwood’s role only diminishes further as the year goes on.
