The Eagles have signed OT Will Beatty, a NFL veteran, who has played in the league for 7 years. Along with signing Beatty the Eagles have released OT Taylor Hart.

Will Beatty is 6-6 291 pounds. Beatty last played for the New York Giants in 2016 but started 63 games for them over the stretch of 2009-2014. Beatty, 32-years-old, adds a NFL veteran who can play either side. This move was necessary after the injury to Jason Peters in week 7. If something were to happen to Lane Johnson or Halapoulivaati Vaitai late into the season the Eagles would surely feel more comfortable making a playoff run with someone with as much experience as Beatty, especially more than a converted defensive tackle in Taylor Hart.

Beatty, a former second round pick by the Giants in 2009, missed the entire 2015 season with a torn rotator cuff. Obviously, those injuries have now healed but could be something to watch if Beatty is needed later in the year.

Now we all can simultaneously begin to pray for perfect health for the offensive line.
