The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to redeem themselves and make the playoffs this season. Well, they are off to a solid campaign in 2017-18. Of course, with some highs, a team encounters some adversity. Well, look no further than the injury sustained to Defenseman Andrew Macdonald. Macdonald will be on the shelf for a period of 4-6 weeks.

One of the questions or flavor of the day is who are the Flyers going to call up? Look no further than young stud, the “Jolly Green Giant,” Samuel Morin. Finally, Morin gets his shot with the big club, as he looks to make an immediate impression. The orange and black called him right after the two game road trip, with games against the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs.

It’s about time this young stud in Morin gets to make an imprint with the orange and black. Drafted by the Flyers in 2013 at 11th overall. Morin has primarily seen action with the AHL Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Last season with the Phantoms he registered 3 goals, 13 assists, and was a plus/minus 0. Not too shabby numbers. Moreover, this season Morin has been on a tear. He has lit the lamp for a goal, 3 assists, and is a plus 3. As a plus player it means you’re doing things right on the ice.

This young stud defenseman cannot hide in the Phantoms system no longer. Morin outplayed his competition in the pre-season. The young giant cannot sit longer in the great farm system the Flyers have developed. For Morin the time is now. One thing is certain Flyers fans, the future is bright in Flyer land.
