Carlos Valdes released on free transfer

The Philadelphia Union have agreed a mutual contract termination with defender Carlos Valdes. After being on loan since February in the Uruguayan Premier League, the defender is now no longer a part of the team, freeing up vital space for the Union. The termination frees up $400k in salary space in time for the Winter Transfer window.

After starting 65 games in his first two seasons at the club, he ventured out on loan Santa Fe in 2013 before going out on loan again a year later. A brief World Cup spurt saw him start a game for Colombia before his return to the Union. Overall he started 73 times for the Union, netting three goals in the process. The question is, does this free up enough room for the signing of you know who..or are there more dominoes to fall?
